Total loss of power
No power and your neighbours are fine? The fault is likely on your installation — we'll find it and restore what's safe to restore.
Burning smell or scorching
A fishy or burning smell near sockets or the fuse board is a serious warning sign. Switch off at the main switch and call immediately.
Board keeps tripping
An RCD that won't stay on is doing its job — there's a fault somewhere. We'll trace it rather than just resetting and hoping.
Sparking or arcing
Visible sparks from sockets, switches or appliances mean damaged connections. Stop using the circuit and call.
Water meets electrics
Leaks, floods or storm damage near wiring, sockets or the board. Keep clear, switch off if safe, and get us out.
Exposed live wiring
Damaged cables, broken fittings, DIY gone wrong — anything with live copper showing needs making safe today, not next week.

What counts as an electrical emergency?
Total or partial loss of power, a burning smell or scorch marks, a board that keeps tripping, sparking, exposed live wiring, or water meeting electrics. If you're unsure, call — we'd rather tell you it can wait than have you risk it.
What should I do while I wait?
If it's safe to reach, switch off the main switch at your fuse board. Don't touch scorched or sparking fittings, keep water well away from electrics — and if anything is smoking or on fire, get out and call 999 first.
